  • Making Congyou Bing (a bit like Chinese Pizza )

Jeremy began the cooking class at 2pm.   Kids gathered to watch, as flour and water were mixed and flattened into round shapes.  Then chopped Chinese onion and oil were added, and kneaded into the dough.   Salt was added, and some kids even added hot peppers.  The result was a bit like pizza dough, but with ingredients INSIDE instead of on top.   Also, it is fried instead of baked.

    Jeremy Frying Congyou Bing

As the first congyou bing fried in the pan, enthusiasm grew.  And when everyone had their first bite, everyone joined in with gusto.  The kneaders kneaded, the choppers chopped, and fryers fried.   The next plate was delivered to the adults with smiling pride.  And the following congyou bings were consumed almost before leaving the pan!
